Music, beer and conversation @ Jukebox

It doesn’t usually come to mind unless you pass by the glowing neon sign. And usually it doesn’t figure in the list of places to hang out in Koramangala.

But Jukebox seems to have its own regular clientele who find their way there in the evenings to enjoy the music over a mug of beer. The place has a quaint charm of its own – a kind of old worldly feeling – and the posters of musicians and record album covers all over the walls reinforces the feeling.

WOODY’S at Kolar

If you head out east on NH4 and want to eat at a decent place, then Woody’s is a good bet. It is located right on NH4, outside of Kolar. After you leave the Bangalore city limits, you will reach here in about an hour’s time. The ‘Woody’s’ display board is not very conspicuous from the highway. So, you will have to keep an eye to your right after about an hour of leaving Bangalore, to locate it.

Painted Platters is chocolate heaven!

After hearing a lot about this place, finally got a chance to visit it on Friday. Chocolate Painted Platters is the name and if you’re a dessert and sweet lover, it’s definitely worth visiting. It’s located in Jayanagar 7th Block and the exact address is: # 260/79, 2nd Main, 7th Block, Jayanagar. From Sangam Circle, you need to take a right and keep going down that road till you see Painted Platters on your left!

A restaurant called Tchi!

First of all, getting to this place might be a bit of a challenge! It’s on Edward Road and even if you’ve been here for a dozen years, I bet you don’t know where it is.

We did finally manage to find the place. It’s off Queens Road (and being a one-way, its towards the end), just before you take the right turn to Cunningham Road. And try not to miss it as it’s a one way and you’ll have to drive all the way back again if you do!

Tchi advertises itself as Authentic South Asian cuisine and since it’s not very easy to get good South East Asian food, I had rather high hopes as I’d read a flattering review of the restaurant on a blog.

Kamat’s loka ruchi @ Ramnagaram

– An afternoon lunch at Kamat’s roka ruchi @ Ramnagaram, a traditional kanara way

When it is food, Kamat’s are quite serious about the taste, ingredients and the service, simply to say they have redefined the hospitality industry as a standard. With a long day at hand we decided to drive down for a afternoon meal at Kamat’s Lokaruchi at Ramnagaram, on Mysore – Bangalore Road (approx 50 kms from Bangalore towards your right if your driving from Bangalore).. near the famous janapada loka!
