The Bangalore BirdRace Team (Sunjay Monga, Swarna Venkataraman, Madhukar
and Subramanya) are very happy to announce that the REGISTRATION for the 2008
Bangalore BirdRace is open. Please register your name with full address and

Want to know what happened at the first Bangalore Bird Race? Here’s Subramanya (Subbu)’s account of it:

36 teams with over 150 birdwatchers took part in the 2007 BirdRace and a
total of 250 bird species were seen on that single day (February 11, 2007)
in about 50Km radius around Bangalore (including Nandi Hills)!

The Winning team – `Spurfowl’ comprising of A.K.Raju, Muralidharan S.,
Prakash H.L. and Mohan Ram spotted a total of 113 species.

The Bird of the Day was the Eurasian Wryneck spotted by the team `Bulbul’
-James Williams, Vandana Mudkani, Fauzia Areif and Vinod Talreja at Valley
School Campus and,

The Dip of the Day was White-breasted Kingfisher which was not spotted by
the team `Bee-eaters’ – Madhavi Raj, Ramachandra K., Ravi Mundoli and
Garima Bhatia.

We look forward to a greater participation in Bangalore BirdRace 2008.
