National Record @ PVR Bangalore !!

If one had been keenly observing the movie listings of PVR cinemas Bangalore for the past 50 weeks, one should have found one thing in common amongst them and no prizes for guessing the right answer which happens to be “Mungaaru Male” – the biggest ever hit of the Kannada film industry. The success story of the movie has already been covered in metblogs at here and here.

On Dec 29th the movie will be completing one year screening. This is for the first time in the history of PVR at the national level that a film will be running successfully to one year.[IndiaGlitz]

Many obvious changes have taken over past one year. The movie was initially dismissed as yet another technically good movie but word of mouth marketing has not only turned it into the biggest ever hit of the Kannada film industry but also as one of the biggest blockbusters of the south. When the movie was released there wasn’t even a wikipedia page for the movie. Now there is not only a full fledged wikipedia page but also a dedicated blog where updates about the movie are posted regularly.

What an awesome movie this ?. I think ‘Mungaru male’ will certainly be a trend setting one and will change the way movies will be made in this country – simple ,effective and down to earth. Bangalore’s hippy crowd is well known to go against odds and change the popular trend. This trend setting movie is one more feather in the cap.

Mungarena male…is very much like a natural flowing stream with melody of music and crispy dialgous…

I’m thrilled to hear that PVR has managed to get the national record for a “Kannada” movie…which is otherwise a miniscule in the national level cinema…

I wish the whole team a very happy celebrations…
