Kerala Darsanam via Eby Joseph

Chitrakala Parishat gallery has become window to Kerala’s serene beauty via some great canvas paintings by Eby Joseph.

This series of portraits, named as Kerala Darsanam (Kerala Landscapes) are being exhibited from November 2 to 15, 2007 It is fourth time that Eby’s exhibition of painting is being held in the City…

“I paint landscapes because these are changing constantly and rapidly. You open your window, and you see a beautiful sight, the next day it is not there. The environment is under threat, all this in the name of development. It is an attempt at marking something that may not be there tomorrow. There is a hill one day and the sun rises from behind it, and the next day….it is gone and the sun is there all of a sudden,” says Eby.

Born in 1960, Kanjirapalli, Kottayam district of Kerala, Eby N. Joseph is an artist who tries to hold up a mirror to nature.
