KSRTC…Differences between what is said and what is practiced!
Here’s the letter that I wrote to the General Manager, Traffic, KSRTC (which, according to the website, is the email id I should write to for all service-related issues).

Dear Sir,
BOOKING OF TICKETS BEYOND THE DESTINATION AND NON-BOOKING OF RETURN TICKETS
I had gone to the KSRTC booking counter at JP Nagar (East End Main Road) depot to book a ticket by the Mayura bus to Bandipur, on the 8th of June, 2007 and a return ticket by the same bus on the 10th of June, 2007.
I was told that I would not be allowed to book up to Bandipur, but had to buy the ticket up to Ooty. I cannot see any logic in this, and had to pay for a distance much more than I am actually travelling.
Also, the franchisee told me that return journey tickets cannot be booked, and he said that even the timings of the return journey buses could not be showed on the screen.
Could you please clarify this, as your website clearly states that return journey tickets can be booked at the same time as the onward journey tickets?
Thanking you,
Deepa Mohan
Not only was I not allowed to book the return tickets, but I missed out on this clause from the website:
Discount on Return Journey Tickets: A discount of 10% is offered on return journey tickets, if both onward and return journey tickets are booked simultaneously.
I am hoping for a response…cannot understand why theory and practice are apparently different in KSRTC!
You have to buy a ticket to Ooty because there is no scheduled stop at Bandipur, so they can’t issue a ticket to the place.
