The Chosen Ones…

Todays Times showed a great photo of a crane translocating a Tabebuia rosa tree from MG Road promenade to Field Marshal Cariappa Parade Ground, the move is welcoming for all tree lovers as there seems to be some amount of concern authorities have shown preserving the green wealth of the city.

Going by the same logic if we have the ability to transplant such trees and have needful talent and willingness, then why is it not applied to all the trees, or is it just a ‘show-sha’ done for eye washing the concerns raised by people?

A gulmohur tree at an intersection of 80ft Road and Old Madras Road was chopped in first week of April…

If we care for the environment why this care is only concentrated around MG road and not to Old Madras road where for the same project many trees are cut and chopped without any consideration that those can also have potentials for transplantation. Perhaps there is no answer!!

    Rajesh,
There is one major difference – The BMRC is not the BBMP! The former is turning out to be transparent, quick( as much as it can!) and responsive to citizens. The latter, well, what can I say? Post on them soon! Just you wait!
    :)

Yes, perhaps that’s another irony about coordination and co-operations between such entities…
