Welcome Monsoon

23 May 2007, 3:30 PM, Whitefield, Bangalore.

When I look outside through the glass window in office it is totally dark, I am bit confused about the time, I am feeling it should be 7:00 PM or later but my system clock reminded me it is still 3:30 PM.

10 minutes later, all of sudden I can hear the thunders with a heavy downpour, I am feeling very comfortable with the weather now as whole temperature has gone down within minutes and at the same time thinking should i takeout my jacket from the cupboard in the home? Also worried about how to go back home in this rain!

Well, Is this Monsoon? Not sure, we in Bangalore were expecting the Monsoon in next couple of weeks but is this early monsoon this year? No idea.
Anyways this rain made me to prepare for Monsoon, Guys its time to search your jackets now, Go home and make sure your jackets are out, especially if you are two wheeler riders.

So, Lets Welcome Monsoon today.

Sitting stuck at Chennai airport with all BLR flights badly delayed here, I am guessing you witnessed some real solid showers Shadow.

Pre-Monsoon or not, the same phenomenon is happening in any place that usually gets a Monsoon season. It’s four months ahead of schedule here(!)
    Nutty weather!
Oh well. It makes sleeping comfortable, especially for those with the luxury of taking a mid-day nap.:)

C’mon, it’s not Mungaru Male. There is a clear distinction between Monsoon rains and passing showers. Observe the rains and you will notice the difference… ;-)

The rains were most welcome yesterday due to the heat. But looking ahead at the rainy season, I think there needs to be a fair preparation done by the Bangaloreans. Jackets – yes, Umbrellas – yes but also for roads with knee deep water, traffic jams as a result. Hope we dont have a situation like last year.

These are just Mango showers. Local disturbances. In fact Bangalore average rainfall for May exceeds the rain in June.

Lets hope this monsoon turns out to be a ‘peaceful one’ without any flooding and loss of life/property.
