Quick Update >> Bangalore International Airport Status..
By January 2008, the Bangalore International Airport will commence trial operations and start commercial operations on April 2008.
The Terminal building > final stage with over 95% of the roof elements placed. The fabrication for the eight bridges between the passenger boarding bridges and the terminal building is now completed.
Air traffic control (ATC) tower & technical block > fabrication of the top dome at the height of 60 meters continued against proposed 65 meters when complete.
Runway, apron and taxiway > The runway paving is now entirely complete. Fixing of the lights along the runway has now commenced. The taxiway asphalting is complete
On the apron area > concrete layer was completed for 130,000sqm out of 360,000sqm and laying of the concrete layer in the isolation bay commenced.
Perhaps the deserving note of completing few civil works ahead of target, this project would help change the mindset of project completion date paradigm for many.

Thanx for the update, Rajesh. Has any newspaper or Web-site covered the progress? Are there pictures? Photos on the BIAL site seem a bit dated.
As someone who has a family home in Bangalore and someone who wants to fly more and more there directly I can’t wait for the new airport to open.
I’ll keep an eye on events and wait to see which airlines fly directly there from London
Not bad!
I am trying to get few pictures if I could make a short visit there…perhaps the momentum would get more media focus as the deadlines near…
Andrew, indeed everyone who flys in and out from Bangalore of wishing to does want this to finish on time and decongest the current one.
WMWC, thanks…
