Rain, Rain don’t go away!
The temperature in the city is soaring. So much so that a friend who had recently gone to Chennai commented on her return that Chennai was pleasant and much better than Bangalore. That could be very true factoring in that it was a brief stay & weather generally has the ability to surprise people. I recall a lot of people have commented on the hot conditions over the last few days.
After all the talk and newspaper articles on this topic and the usual after office thoughts when I was riding home today a simple development got me really excited. It was a drizzle.
I was on MG Road when it happened. My thoughts of it being just a few drops of water falling off from somewhere died when I saw the drops of drizzle on the glass of an auto and it was further confirmed when I saw a few fellow riders look up & around trying to understand the development & the consequences.
My mind ran free. Thoughts came rushing in. What if it starts to pour now? It would be wonderful. Yes. I wanted it to pour, but the drizzle played hide & seek. It was on for a while & then off. And worse I was nearing home. It should have just poured; I would have loved to get back home drenched. It’s so much better than getting back home sweaty.
As I write this, I see mom rushing up to the terrace to get the clothes that were hung out for drying. It’s been a while since it’s rained. It’s just another thing for most. But it’s an important need right now. To bring down the temperatures & in the long run, cut out the load shedding & the growing water problem of the city.
Will it pour?
Will it pour so heavy that the drains start to overflow?
Or are these just passing clouds? We will know.
Can’t help it I suppose
In summer, summer we oppose
And rains we propose.
An unexpected rain
As they say does make a few to miss the train
But the heat being out is a big relief
And its the joyous thing I believe
A blogger poet… great! As refreshing as the rain itself…
Thank you very much for this post.
For the last few days, I was suffering from insomnia, but your post fixed that problem. It put me to sleep immediately.
Apprecite both the comments guys. Thanks Rubic_cube. Just some dude, I dont quite know what exactly you mean by that, but I would like to take it positively.
Waaah… it didn’t rain where I live :(
I read about the rain only in the morning… I hope it rains all over Bangalore. It’s about time!
Actually, it seemed a fantastic co-incidence, as early yesterday, I was talking about April showers with my wife over breakfast. And, today, the newspapers reported their arrival.
This much I can tell you – I’ve scored quite a few brownie points for my intelligence! And thats saying quite a lot. *laughing*
;)
Yeah the rain (the drizzle) was a welcome change. Hope we get to see more of it, although I must say, I’m not a fan of driving home drenched!
