KSRTC now Online

Ticket booking made easier now with KSRTC (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation), As a gift of Ugadi KSRTC Bus ticket booking are now online, here is URL.
Even though KSRTC had a booking counters all over the city it was bit difficult before but now i am relaxed at i can book the from Internet.

Today i already booked a bus ticket through net and services looks good but feels they need to rework on the interfaces like selecting the destination initially which don’t have dropdown list, BTW i do have an option to select the seats of my choice which has a graphical interface of booked & available seats.

Hats Up KSRTC to bring the online ticket booking facility which is first time in India by a government run transport corporation, I wish a grand success for a innovations @ KSRTC.

Just as long as you don’t try to count on that “seat reservation” to mean you’ll actually get that particular seat.

Coming back from Mysore recently, our “reserved seats” on the 6pm Volvo turned out to be a laughable fiction when the 6pm bus never showed up. When a bus finally arrived at 7:30pm we almost could not get on, as the conductor told us our seats weren’t for “this” bus and the ticket seller would only give tickets to people who had queued for them.

So the concept is laudable, but be prepared for difficulties in the actual implementation…

    Charles,

There may be certain challenges with practicalities but that is what our country is all about. I have traveled across India and KSRTC is definitely the best road transportation network we have.

Just had a quick look – nice beginning. For new registrants site is not secure (no security lock) and you end up giving personal information.
