VSNL, BSNL… sad state
I am making this post after a lot of difficulty, and that’s what I am posting about. I have both a VSNL dial up connection and a BSNL broadband connection. I was quite disgusted when VSNL took three entire months to renew my account, during which I lost a lot of emails; but now I find that BSNL is almost equally bad.
The connection has not been working properly, and calls to the local BSNL Internet office (and two visits in person) only yield assurances that they are “looking into the problem”..and little action. I have been comparing notes with others who have either type of connection, and the story is the same… When will this attitude of govt. organizations ever change? Right now, apparently, a BSNL broadband connection involves a waiting period of a few months.
Yes deepa. I looked at the other parameter of billing at http://kingrooster.wordpress.com/2007/02/06/bsnl-whims-and-fancies/
The sad part is everybody seems to be saying atleast these good guys are doing the job while other private entities refuse to even connect since there are only 2 users in the hub!!
Sad story for the consumer who pays through his nose.
Good post and lets keep up the consumer fight.
Cheers
mohan!
I don’t know much about BSNL or VSNL. The basic reason I didn’t opt for them in the first place was their record of customer service. In this regard I must say Airtel rocks!!!
Any time I have a problem, they send someone over within the day. In fact they even have some kind of a money back guarantee where they slash 100 bucks off your bill if they haven’t fixed the problem in 2 days. Although I can’t verify if it’s true since I have never had such a problem.
The only issue is that they are not present everywhere currently and in many places like Airport road, they are fully occupied on the slots and can’t offer more connections.
Have been using Airtel BB for the last 1.5 yrs…& believe me guys the conn ROCKS…right from the speed..to the service to the customer care!!!
Was not getting any connection in Laxmi Layout, Munnekolal, Marthahalli, so opted BSNL, it put phone line after 5 months, when I started calling daily the ADE of Whitefield,
Then after 1 month BB, but I changed the password, and forgot it, that was biggest mistake, as I paid for 3 months without using any service.
Then later it was smooth for quite a few days, but later started getting low speeds as low as 29kbps.
Free surfing also from night 2 am, too bad.
Finally got off it.
Timely post.
I have been ranting about VSNL over at my blog. Apparently my email to whoever is in charge of VSNL is working…for the past week I have been inundated with calls from call center, local folks, etc. I basically told the call center folks that they have lost any right to call me. I felt horrible when I told them but these folks have tested my patience and kindness for 18 months! I told them that now that I am my own call center and keep track of the trohble tickets and coordinate between the phone and network people they cannot claim to be involved in solving my problem.
I have had a “barath” or “pattalam” of sorts camped out in my place for the past few days. It took them a few days to figure out the problem and finally this evening I got a kuccha connection of sorts…now there is wiring and drilling to put the wires in place. But, these folks did such a thorough job that they disconnected my phone line.
This is truly a case of the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing.
Uff! This is such a lost case…
Kamla
Well, i did not have any issues with BSNL to get a broadband connection. As they had told me they took around 30 days to provide me with a modem and ADSL convertor. Also in between i changed my modem to wireless without any problem with them. Thank god.
BSNL BB is most sad decision i seem to have ever taken
