Grapes of ….
….wrath? Hardly, I’d say. More like a bountiful harvest this year, it appears. Hmmm, like year on year? On the roads, you will see heaps and heaps of this fruit laden on push-carts and prices enquired by eager customers. However, with rates in the range of +Rs.40 a kg, these gentlemen sellers, unhappy with low sales & offtake, think that consumers are being sour grapes. I think their wining…er, whining should gradually fade as prices drop. Still, these luscious, sweet and seedless beauties are worth buying and is a family favourite with many.
I believe that there is also a Drakshi Mela that is held every year at the HOPCOMS centre at Hudsons Circle. I’d love to report it over here should the event be upcoming. Anybody?
looks yummy!!
if one is for driving, on the Nandi hills road you may get fresh grapes as low as 30-32 per KG…
I heard from somebody that a lot of pesticides are used while growng grapes and alos that its doesnt go even after washing with hot water is it so?
