What the Verdict means?

*Though Tamilnadu has been granted(?) 419 TMC of water, Karnataka needs to release 192 TMC annually. Remaining amount of water for Tamilnadu comes from its own catchment areas
*In the Interim Tribunal, Karnataka was asked to release 205 TMC.
*The distress sharing formula is not clear, yet. One cannot trust the news channels, since they themselves are not clear
*All states have 3 months to re appeal. In case of reappeal, there will be only a review of the award. And the result of which will be declared within a years time, after which it will get into the gazette.
*Much to the dismay of television channels, situation is peace and calm. No untoward incident has been reported.
*There is a bandh call on the 8th of February by Karnataka Farmers Association, and some other political parties. Nothing is sure
*Train services seem to be normal. Many of my friends came to Bengalooru, from Chennai last night
*Almost all shops are open. BMTC buses and Auto’s are running. But the traffic is thin on roads!

Thanks! Isn’t that awesome! I, for one, am thrilled that the news channels got nothing untoward to report! Times Now was the worst of the lot. Sensationalising over nothing! I am very particular about not swearing in the blog world, otherwise I would had some choiciest words for them! Ugh!

The 205 TMC was at Mettur and not at Biligundlu, which meant KA was reqd to realease 180 TMC at Biligundlu. So this actually translates to KA having to release 12 TMC more now, than in the interim verdict.

Times Now asked its viewers to call and express their opinions! People were calling and abusing the political leaders at their will. It was something highly unnecessary!

    Thanks. Updated the post accordingly!

    Dear VS :
But the 192 tmc includes 10 tmc for environmental protection and 7 tmc for Pudhucherry. So, in total it is 175 only at Biligundlu. So 5 tmc less than what the interim award gave? Got it?
