Cauvery the way you want it,

Those odd churmuri breaks here and there,

And more. Though a good 5-6 hour drive away from Bangalore, Coorg region has a lot on offer for nature starved city dwellers like us. Don’t wait for a long weekend, just go there!

I miss all of them, sitting here in the city :)

For the uninitiated reader – “Madikeri Mel Manju” is a song written by GP Rajarathnam – yendkudka Rathna, with very nice lyrics and a catchy tune. Reminds me, I need to buy a book of his works.

Arun – Appreciate your giving the background of the title of this post. I was wondering how many people would get it. Would have been awesome if there was some online audio resource you could have linked to for that song. I Googled, but did not find any.

My wife was singing this song (nice tune) all through the drive. So I just couldn’t think of another subject line. “Madikeri mel Manju”! Thanks Arun/Mysore for the supporting info.

Mytri,Libran,Veena, locations for the pics are – Siddapur (green estates). Dubare (elephant camp). Dubare again (River Kaveri). Abbe falls. Churmuri at Raja’s seat, Madikeri.

Naren, couldn’t go to Tala Kaveri. 3 day long weekend wasn’t time enough.

    @ Shadow, thanks.

@ Sampada, try Orange County, Club Mahindra, Country Club and similar or even Jungle Lodges (Dubare) if you aren’t that tight on budget. Can also try “home stay” (list at http://www.coorgtourism.com/). If you can, then I suggest you drive all the way and use your car to go around Madikeri.
