Makeover Magic
There are umpteen Public Private Partnerships in the area of bettering Bangalore’s infrastructure. But, ah, environment? What better way to combine the state’s authority (not to mention, its real estate) with the private sector’s expertise?
Take the case of a public park beside the Ulsoor Lake on Kensington Road. Earlier it was a darn eyesore, what with people trampling all over the place and all sort of illicit activities going on.
Today, its got a complete makeover of sorts and in the process, undergone a beautiful metamorphosis!
Take a look:
I was totally impressed. Apart from the signboards above, there were a couple more which I’ve omitted to take pictures. Seeing them, you’d think this park was under some sort of corporate management!
Overall, one has to be totally grateful for this patch of velvet green that’s a sight for sore eyes. All of you who agree, please give the nice guys at Brigade Group 3 cheers for their CSR!
:)
This is a win-win. BMP gains by gaining credit of well maintained parks and saving their money for other things (whatever they might be). The parnering company gets free advertisement plus their corporate responsibility brownies too!
Hi,
Thanks for taking interest in reading my blog. Maybe I am not from Bangalore but I totally know why everyone loves this place.
Shubha
Beautiful pics. Though I have passed by the lake many times, I haven’t taken the time to visit the park. Next time, I will! Maybe make a little outing of it with kids too. Thanks for this post!
