Another Big Bazaar Outlet

This Weekend Bangalore witnessed inauguration of another outlet of Biz Bazaar in Old Madras Road,
People around Indiranagar, KR Puram & Whitefield are with big relief on there face as it was high time for the people in this area to shop at Big Bazaar since the other outlets were quite far & weekends was hectic to visit one of the BibBazaar mall in other part of the city.

This outlet claims that it is the biggest Big Bazaar mall in the country with 1,60,000 Sq Ft shopping area, Another plus point over here is this is situated in a non-commercial area with least crowds in surroundings. But the real worry is will this mall effect the traffic of OMR ? Because this is also an National highway. Let we leave this to time to answer.

Also there are few negative sides of these malls, Read Usha’s post on this.

Address: Salapuria Nova
No. 1 & 2, Old Madras Road.

It is after NGEF on right side if you are coming from City & It is after Benniganahalli on left side if you are coming from KR Pura.

Exactly 5.5 kms from my place. Closer than most other big shopping centers. But if it is just the groceries, there are great places within 1 kms for me.

Don’t go for clothing from Big Bazaar. They are generally crappy.

The railway bridge near beneganahalli is already like the center of a dual sided funnel and the big bazaar is only going to make it worse. But then, we cannot have traffic woes alone stop every good thing from coming up. :-)

well said Ajay – traffic woes alone can’t every good thing from popping up. But I do want to see if this new outlet has planned for enough parking. I hate ‘new’ businesses that ignore parking rules. ‘old’ businesses, one can understand – there were fewer cars and low awareness etc when they came up. but ‘new’ businesses (example: Innovative multiplex) that cheap out on parking space just need to be stoned.

I am yet to visit it. But I am told traffic jam has got worse now. I wish these big retailers not just built stores but also sorted out some problems like traffic mess in the area, especially near the Benignahalli railway bridge. Maybe official administrative bottlenecks are too many?

The road leading to nagavarapalya from the fork of bigbazaar is in chaos as it is the artery road towards inner areas. With bigbazaar customers parking on this road, it is worse for nearby residential places.

On weekends both sides of old madras road is swamped with cars form half to 1 km frm big bazaar!!! Need to open such stores on outer ring road or pheripheral ring roads.

Its very near to my place. Closer than most other big shopping centers. Its good to have just a big shopping mall in KR Puram..I hope this mall will not worse the traffic as it is quite far away from KR Puram fly over
