Mobile Puncture Service

India Inc. is booming and enterprising minds are making hay during these sunny days. With a population as massive as ours almost any business idea will sell as long as you are the first at it. Here is one that surely is useful, though at a price.

There is a yearly non-refundable deposit of Rs.100 that needs to be paid upfront. This amount is on a per vehicle basis i.e. if you have 2 vehicles that you would like to be covered by this service it would cost you Rs.200. The membership renewal cost is Rs.100/year. They will be providing you a card and a T-Pin number than will be used to cross verify your identity before sending a person over to come and help you.

This could be a useful service if our roads remain pothole ridden. :-)

But Who’d pay Rs.100/- per year to get punched at their face (at an additional cost of Rs. 15 per Punch(er) )
    ;o)

Yup.. its on the costly side. Could make more sense when you are in an unfamiliar area at an odd hour. Some would be ready to shell out 100 bucks to get out of there in a hurry. :-)

I don’t think Rs.100 is expensive for yearly membership as I have faced many times that by the time I search for a puncture shop nearby by my tube was with big hole !!! We can save our Tubes, Search for garage & worries @ night time….

“… almost any business idea will sell as long as you are the first at it”….not necessarily. The business landscape is littered with examples of businesses shutting down as they were way ahead of their time.

it would be better to charge 30 RS instead of 15 RS and not charge 100

    Thanks for the comments….

Shadow: That is precisely why this business idea can click. Since time is of the essence, our desperation at that instant will rule the worthiness of Rs.100.

Ravi: Agree. Being the first without any real utility value doesn’t guarantee success. But like the dotcom bubble a few years ago when many dotcoms blossomed(though temporarily), when things are going good, every business has a better chance of succeeding.

Bipin: Yeah, since we won’t be in trouble every other day a slightly higher fee on a per problem basis seems better. Also, Linking it to one vehicle is also not a great idea, coz its always possible that I have 2-3 vehicles and then paying Rs.100/vehicle does not make sense.
