But where’s the Yo?

So there’s this new fast food place opened on 80 feet road called Yo! China. It’s a part of an already established chain with branches in Delhi, Hyderabad etc.

The concept is on the lines of McDonalds, except it’s Chinese food. We went to try it out the other day. The place is very well lit and spacious and has a KFC kind of look.

But for a fast food place, the service was very slow. The chicken dimsums (priced per piece, but you have to order a minimum of 5!!) took 45 minutes and the vegetarian ones took about an hour. And when we enquired about the veg dimsums, the waiter said that they’re not kept ready and take longer. Ummm… So the chicken is prepared and still takes 45 mins?!

The lung fung soup I ordered came in a large bowl and the sweet corn soup came in a rather smallish bowl. The logic: sweet corn soup doesn’t come in a large bowl. Okay. We were learning lots of new things at this place!

The food was decent to average. We didn’t really try anything on the main course, so I can’t comment on it. But as everything was taking so much time, we were already quite tired and decided that we’d skip the main course (in the fear of waiting for another hour!).

The place was really crowded, both at the ground level and the first floor. They also advertise for a pack of chowmein at Rs 20, which is a really decent price but I am not sure about the quantity. It’s also a take away place. Hopefully, that service is faster than the service we got. If anyone had a better experience, do share!

I have been to Yo! China in Dehradun, liked the place & the food was desi-chinese…the platters/combos are decently priced & the quantity is enough.

    The service was DEFINATELY SLOW.

Guess the place is targeted at the college/school going crowd…as you mentioned McD & KFC…

Why are soo many places opening up in Bangalore when I left the place…Yo! China,Ruby Tuesday, NewYoker :(

Me in Chennai on official work but couldn’t help but comment on this post( do recall we discussed about this place when we guys met up in Koramangala) I have great memories of Yo China’s Vasant Vihar outlet in Delhi.. no way is that going to change because they haven’t got their act right in Bangalore!
    Mouth watering right now,
    Ravi

I went there and the food was absolutely terrible.

It’s as if someone took Indian chinese food and then McDonald-ised it, making it even more mediocre, but it’s fine if you only want to fill your tummy.
