Airport Road on Waste plastics.

The below banner on Airport Road next to Leela Palace caught my attention two days back, But I failed to take a snap of it & to know more details.
Today I made an attempt to capture it & find our more details on it.

Recently there is lot of road works going on in Airport Road & really they are making very good roads on Airport Road. The BEST part is that Airport Road is asphalted using waste plastics!!!
A recent survey shows the 1/4 of waste produced in Bangalore is plastic we somehow need to recycle this and the best way to do is use it to construct roads, the roads were found to be durable using waste plastic.

BMP is working with KK Plastic Waste management Pvt Ltd to use the waste plastics to construct the roads.

Bangalore has got some more plastic roads and they are

• Deve Gowda petrol station to Kanakapura Road
• Cunningham Road: Chandrika Hotel to Balekundri Circle
• Millers’ Road: from railway under bridge to BWSSB office

I wish one day all the roads of Bangalore will be asphalted using waste plastics.

A blogger named Krishi had left this comment at my blog a few days ago:

… they are trying to mix waste plastic into the road-making contents – apparently, this is supposed to ensure against degradation. BMP is supposed to have already done this in a few places already. Don’t know where.

    How did he know?
