Brashtachara nirmoolana Andolana
Good news for those who regretted when the term of Justice N Venkatachala as Lokayukta came to an end in early July. Determined to continue his crusade against corruption he has launched the “Brashtachara Nirmoolana Andolana”. In his speech at the inauguration of the movement on Monday he announced that he will fight corruption to the last breath. I think that should be an inspiration for each one of us to do our bit in our interaction with the system to stand up against corruption. Let us not get tempted to pay and expedite what we want. Let us try to go through the proper channel even if it means some wait and delay. Lett us utilise the grievance mechanisms and anti corruption avenues to report any incidents of corruption. If politicians try to weaken anti corruption cells, let the citizens empower them through non co-operation with the corrupt.
The movement plans to recruit 25 lakh members across the state with offices in every district and taluk .

This really is good news coz I don’t hear/see the usual noise from the Lok Ayukta anymore. Call me cynical, but I am not aware of any/many purely public initiatives bearing fruit yet.

Right Ajay. It sounds negative, but “pure public” initiatives, and espcially the ones that are driven by a “single” hero, these dont sustain for long. Hope this will be an exception.
Best way to improve anything is by working on it both from inside as well as outside.
