The Week That Was – July 31st to Aug 6th.

Last week, we at Metroblogs announced the opening of a new flyover, while questioning its usefulness, and it turned out that the Opening ceremony was not too smooth either!

Anyway, whatever the state of the infrastructure, the new means of public transport seems to be doing well. Add to it, a brand new way of visiting the City’s Tourist spots, and a promising new Radio Station, and songs from Bangalore’s own band, and you are all set to take on the roads!

Look around you, there are changes happening everywhere! Ever so often, we see the old brick-and-mortar buildings giving way to glass-and-chrome structures. But like all change, and attempts at progress, there are victims too – or are they victims, really?

Among the new developments – your snail mail now can get Golden Feet! And on the culture scene, you have the concept of a new Theatre, with a very interesting USP, and an exclusive Kannada store, a one-stop shop for all your needs!

In other news, one of our oldest institutions is to get a new lease of life, and the government might take now take a really tough stand against errant autorickshaw drivers.

Hunger pangs? Head right over to a neighbourhood Chat Centre, and satiate your taste buds! Still hungry? Have a plate of yummy Idlis, and oh, by the way, did you know that Rava Idlis had their origin in Namma Bengaluru?

Tired of the hustle and bustle of the city? Go on a weekend drive to Srirangapatna, or go away for the weekend to Markonahalli Dam.

Our beloved city is going through bad times in terms of safety, but is there a solution for it? And why, why, why do people resort to bad-mouthing Bangalore at every opportunity?. Nevertheless, as a whiff of fresh air comes a fantastic interview with Suresh Moona, the heritage man of Bangalore, and when he talks about Bangalore, we nod, and we realize why we are in love with the city in the first place!

So, until next week, Toodle-oo!
