Do you know which place is this?
Do you know where this building is? This building would skip anybody’s attention unless someone noticed its oddity.
Hint:
1. This is old Bangalore.
2. Fellow Metblogger blogged about this place.
3. Thousands of people converge here daily, generating enormous business.
4. One of the few places in Bangalore where you will certainly find the Mangalorean sweet preparation “Chiroti”.
PS: Pics clicked in 640×480 resolution from cellphone. Panorama pic made in trial version software “Omnistitcher”. That’s why you see the “Pixtra” watermark all over the image. Please excuse.
It does say ‘Avenue road’ when you scroll the mouse over the picture [not that i needed it ofcourse]….and well Ramses had blogged about it..
Yeah, I realised that giveaway after I had posted the article. I should take care henceforth.
Anyways, the reason I put it up here was for people to comment on the oddity of the building. Can anybody tell what is odd about this building?
The only thing I can think of is that it looks like the white building is superimposed on the brown building ;)
@ Shruthi – Exactly! Look to the left of the white building. It is the older building. Cannot make out the name. But the year read as 1920. And look to the right of the building. It is the same old building again. What does it mean? This new building was built right in the middle of the older builder. I can think of a dozen stories as to why it could have happened. But I would seriously love to know the reality why it happened so. Why would anybody build that stark white building right on top of the older structure and make it stand apart like that.
Intriguing indeed! :D
Maybe we could catch hold of some old timer who lives or works around that place, and find out ;)
i know wht i should investigate next when i go to Avenue road :D
Come’on, will you tell where it is!! I’m interested in the CHIROTI, not the building…..
Are you serious when you say that chiroti available only in a few places in Bangalore these days? Come on… that can’t be true! Where have you been searching? Of course, the small sweet stalls never had these. But the bigger ones in places like Malleshwaram, Rajajinagar, Jayanagar surely have chiroti and pheni available!
