All knotted up…

It was to be a shoe-in of a good plan but you know what happens to the best laid (or stitched) plans of men? They come apart at the seams! Aaarrgh! I know, I know. Just couldn’t avoid those.

I guess all this unraveling happens to the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike on issues which confront Bangalore. Plans are first made. Then announced to an eager and waiting public. Only to fail in their implementation & execution.

Take for instance, a proposal to accommodate evicted cobblers in better looking kiosks than the one sponsored earlier by LIDKAR. Each of these kiosks – 50 of them to be located at various places – costs 40k & was to contain a tool box and granite seating. Like promises made during electioneering, power will be free during certain times. All’s well, right?

Hardly. This whole project seems to be mired in a public interest litigation and there’s no solution in sight.

“We are trying to find an appropriate solution to the tangle. The idea is to arrive at a solution that is acceptable to all parties,” BMP Commissioner Mr Gupta said.

Sure, sure, Guptaji. We are waiting patiently. A couple of my shoes need mending too!

Hmmm. Wonder if this is what happens when plans are just cobbled together with no glue (aaarghhh again!) in sight…….

;)

Hey… I saw this somewhere. I was driving past this installation and was wondering if it is the left behind debris of Bangalore Forward movement.

you’ve one such thingy bang next to Forum.

The point with all such things is that the City Corporation is rarely – if ever – held accountable. Actually, I dont quite know of any such Urban Public Utility/Service being held accountable, in India.
