Have you checked the BTIS site? Its really a very useful site for people who are not familiar with all the roads in the city. Apart from providing information on the current traffic updates, the site also provides directions from one area to another along with a rough estimate on what the Auto fare could be?

I tried the directions for ‘Basavanagudi to MG Road’ and the route given was Basavanagudi-Bugle Rock-JC Road-Raja Ram Mohan Roy Road-Kasturba Road-MG Road. Distance is 6.8 kms.

Unfortunately the site does not take the one ways into consideration :( I tried the directions from MG Road to Basavanagudi, and it gave the exact reverse of the above scenario. But nevertheless it seems to be a useful website.

Police has registered a case against NRN. Home minister MP Prakash termed it as an unpardonable act.

1. Vatal Nagaraj has been instrumental in organizing Bandhs as and when he pleases all through his life. Is that n pardonable act?
2. When DR.Rajkumar died, so many people created problems for normal citizens by retorting to violence, closing down businesses etc. What has happened to the case against them? And the government just kept quiet. Is that a pardonable act?
3. Just because he wanted to prove his political mileage, Siddaramiah organized a bandh in Mysore few days back. Is that a pardonable act?
4. Former CM Dharam Singh said everything is right in Bengalooru and put citizens to hardship by not focusing on the infrastructure. Is that a pardonable act?
5. Every time something minor happens, the city comes to a standstill because of the violent mob mentality of the politicians. Is that a pardonable act?
6. All the MP’s of Karnataka sleep and ensure that the state doesnt get a better rail connectivity. Especially between Bengalooru and Mangalore. Is that a pardonable act?

Why cant these people let us live peacefully. It seems Mr Vatal Nagaraj asked for a CBI enquiry into the National Anthem issue. CBI enquiry? I guess this city can sustain on its own without any politicians. Why cant they let the people live peacefully.

I sincerely wish and hope that they dont call for a Bandh for this issue!

Yesterday I had to visit Sagar Apollo hospital, near bannerghatta road, thanks to my ankle sprain. It was around 10.30 in the night and I reached there with my friend. The moment the hospital security saw me limping, he rushed in and brought a wheel chair. And I was rushed into the emergency ward. Only after entering there, I realised what emergency was.

There was a baby with breathing problems, an old lady with asthma and an old guy having heart problems! There were couple of doctors treating all of us, and they were extremely cool, relaxed. Looking at them, made me feel far better. I was literally unable to lift my leg. After doing some preliminary checkup’s the doctor asked me to get the X-Ray since he suspected a fracture.

A nurse put me on the wheel chair and took me to the Radiology department. And suddenly she stopped and asked my friend to pay the bill. I was taken to the Radiology department only after the bill was paid. I don’t know if this is some rule they have, but I found it strange. Anyways, once the X-Ray was done the doctor in duty wanted an opinion from the orthopaedician. I was waiting in the emergency room listening to the beeps of the various electronic machines connected to the heart patient next to me. After some 15 or 20 minutes, nurse came and tied a long bandage on my leg and gave some medicines. It seems I had a ligament tear, and shouldn’t strain much. She did explain to me, what I should do and more importantly what I shouldn’t.

I asked her, when the orhtopaedician will come and check me. She said, he had come, checked my X-ray and left! He had left without even seeing me! I found the experience pretty interesting. All the staff at Sagar Apollo were kind, polite and understanding. But they have rules of getting money from patient before the treatment starts, and an orthopaedician who just looks at the X-Ray and not at the patient. I am not sure if this is the case with other hospitals as well

All said and done, the orthopaedicians recommendations did work, and am on my foot again. Though not completely, am in a much better shape than yesterday!

*Though Tamilnadu has been granted(?) 419 TMC of water, Karnataka needs to release 192 TMC annually. Remaining amount of water for Tamilnadu comes from its own catchment areas
*In the Interim Tribunal, Karnataka was asked to release 205 TMC.
*The distress sharing formula is not clear, yet. One cannot trust the news channels, since they themselves are not clear
*All states have 3 months to re appeal. In case of reappeal, there will be only a review of the award. And the result of which will be declared within a years time, after which it will get into the gazette.
*Much to the dismay of television channels, situation is peace and calm. No untoward incident has been reported.
*There is a bandh call on the 8th of February by Karnataka Farmers Association, and some other political parties. Nothing is sure
*Train services seem to be normal. Many of my friends came to Bengalooru, from Chennai last night
*Almost all shops are open. BMTC buses and Auto’s are running. But the traffic is thin on roads!
