It was a normal Sunday evening and we (my friend and I) decided to have evening snacks at one of the close by restaurants – Breeze Restaurant in New Thippasandra.

I am a regular customer in this restaurant but was not greeted with a smile; maybe they are not aware that a smile can create wonders to their business :)

But as they say “When you don’t find anything nearby, you have to compromise on something and accept anything that comes your way” and hence, this restaurant was the obvious choice… But this Sunday ,the incident made me think “Why should I contribute to that restaurant’s business”? When we (my friend and I) asked for tea, the waiter told us that tea time was over, but when a few others at the neighbouring table asked for the same, the waiter got the tea for them!

I don’t want to dwell too much on the reasons why they were served (and we weren’t) but the one thing was clear was that they seemed to discriminate on the basis of the “size and shape” of customers, probably the face, the look etc.

I cannot comment on the business strategy of that restaurant, but they should probably realise that being more customer friendly to all clients who walk in will get them more revenues and business. And leave less people dissatisfied. These kind of incidents do sometimes affect the charm of living in a city like Bangalore.
