New authors for Bangalore

It’s that time of the year when I call for new authors for Bangalore Metblogs (BM). After changing to the new look and feel, we haven’t had a chance to recruit fresh blood. So if you’re looking to come on board the Metblogs team, here’s your chance.

The system works slightly differently now. You need to be registered on Bangalore Metblogs and commented a few times. If you have done so in the past, and are now interested in being upgraded to an author, you need to leave a comment on this page.

BM is looking for enthusiastic, committed and interested authors who are passionate about the city. The basic criteria is basically an interest in the city (events, activities, projects etc.), an ability to post a few times a week and of course, an inclination and ability to write decently well.

You can write on topics as diverse as events, politics to food and architecture. But they need to be related to the city or have some connection with Bangalore – that’s the basic requirement.

If you’re interested, please leave a comment and mention how long you’ve been following the blog and if you have commented earlier.

    Hi All,

I haven’t commented on these pages before (in fact, I only signed up yesterday)
But given the chance, I would like to write about Bangalore – I like writing, and I like Bangalore. Win-win situation, I’d say.

Ah yes… finally the opportunity to contribute. I’d love to write in about my city after following this blog for quite a while now. Really sad that this opportunity comes up just when I’m about to move to another country… Can I still contribute and sort of do a compare and contrast between my old home ( Bangalore) and my new home (Shanghai)?

I have been hooked to reading blogs the past couple of days. Blogs about every topic under the sky and have been quite fascinated with all the information, thoughts and opportunities shared over blogs.. I used to blog quite regularly a couple of years ago, and then got caught up in all the things that everybody does, and blissfully ignored the joy of light reading and sharing. I m now trying to get back to enjoy the spirit of thinking loud. Honestly, today is the first time I read this blog. And I know I ll come back every day to know more..
Bangalore is my hometown, so as to say.. I haven lived there for long but have been constantly connected to it. In the past 4 years, have spent a few weeks at home every year, but share a kinship with fellow Bangaloreans everywhere I go.But hoping to get back by the end of the year and am trying to understand all I can about my invisible roots.. I m hoping by leaving a comment today, sometime down the line, I ll get to write here too about the City that I can say my home :)
I appreciate the work of all you bloggers, for all the little bits you share about the City, that would escape the flashy newspapers, but keep the city alive for people like us..
Kudos.. Will invite you to read my thoughts soon..

For those of you who have to commute far and long, this is something quite useful I found in my explore Bangalore online expedition..

    Hi Anita,

I’m a registered member of metblogs have been following metblogs posts since about a year now. I’m a musician, writer, foodie and passionate bangalorean. I’ve lived in this city for 25 years now and wish to bring fresh insights about the city to all metbloggers. I’m also a researcher in the field of cultural studies and have been studying rock and heavy metal bands in Bangalore in order to understand how they function as subcultures.

Bangalore is much more than just a cosmopolitan city thats been given tags like ‘Silicon Valley’, ‘garden city’ , blah blah . Bangalore is an idea, a thought. It is a very unique socio-cultural space that has undergone dramatic changes over the last few decades. It is my experience of this constant process of change that I wish to capture in my writing, If I get to be on the new writing team.

    Over to you !
