This weekend at Bangalore

For the young and the restless and those new to the city, here are things you could do this weekend in Bangalore:

Check out the sales going on around the city. This is a good time for bargains because the nearest festival is a good two months away. Shopkeepers will be trying to dispose their stock before Ugadi. Some of the noteworthy sales going on are:

1. Nike Sale (Flat 40% off) at all their outlets. There was a flat 50% off sale in Jayanagar a couple of weeks back and for once, they had really slashed the prices by that much.
2. Reebok (30-40% off) at all their outlets.
3. Every other place selling clothes is having a discount sale. Best time to stock up for the days ahead.
4. Furniture sales going on in quite a few places.

Watch the Kannada movie GaaLipata. There was only the gold class available when I went last time :(. I hear it is a good movie and the reviews second that. If you have watched Taare Zammen Par already, there is no Hindi movie to recco this week.

Check out a different cuisine: There’s a Persian restaurant next to NASA on MG road, Rajdhani (rajasthani food) at Forum and in front of Food World on MG road, and Nalapaka (Rajajinagar) for starters. Of course, you know where I got the last one from.

If you are interested in Indian ballet, check out Romeo Juliet at Rangashankara.

For those interested in sculpture, there is something going on at ChitraKala Parishat, Sadashivnagar.

Attend the republic day parade. For details, check your local newspaper

If you just want to stay at home and try your hand at an exotic recipe, mail me. :)

    Hey Preran,

This is one real good post, I must say. Not sure I have seen a post like this around here, so it is very refreshing & very informative. Alright let me say this after I read the last line I immediately clicked on your name link under the Authors section to see if you have something to do with cooking or stuff like that. But nothing is there. May be you can have something there, may be something general if not specific.
