Want to foot a high bill?

Well, you’ve got to give it to them. If they do something, its gotta be done in style and on a scale that says “big” /
“bold” / “splashy” / “ambitious” etc. The Reliance juggernaut is on a roll and there’s no stopping it, come protests or otherwise.

In keeping with their plans to diversify into high value consumer segments, Reliance has opened this huge speciality showroom – Footprint – smack on 100 ft Road Indiranagar with bold, crimson red splashed on its facade. Stepping inside and surveying the products, supposedly “…..25,000 products catering to all categories such as formal, casual, party wear and sports footwear”, I was stunned by the awesome choice that’s now available to the Indian consumer. Familiar brands jostle with very upmarket ones from the U.S & Europe at a quality vs. price ratio that will either make you smile or send you into a state of shock.

Apparently, Reliance Footprint plans to have a pan-India presence by opening over 15 such large specialty stores across metros and mini-metros in the next 12 months.

While this should give them a leg up on the competition, only time & consumer preference will show whether this latest Ambani-led venture is a surefire shoe….sorry, shoo-in success!
