News – Fire @George Thangiah Complex on 80ft Road, Indira Nagar
7.45am, Top Floor of George Thangiah Complex – East on 80ft Road Indira Nagar was on fire… seen two fire engines on the scene!!
This complex houses many IT companies such as TCS, Genesis, Acer India etc. Not sure about any casualties but looks like a minor or relatively less impact as the offices would be closed and fire must have been broke out in the night!!
The fire broke in the Genesis Microchip office. It started at around 6:45am in the morning (mostly because of an electrical shock) and before the fire brigade could make it, ½ of a floor and a lab was already gone within 20-25mins…
Thankfully when the incident took place none of the employees and the staffs were inside but the loss is lots :( Because of this fire, one floor is filled with so much smoke that it’s just not possible to breathe inside that floor…
Certainly not a good way to start the week.

Very timely & topical reporting, Rajesh. On the way home for lunch, I noticed the blackened ceiling from 80ft Road and hoped that there would be no loss of life. Thank god for small mercies!
