Getting a Wider Angle !!

Being a photographer I crave to see some great photo’s and with Anita’s invite for Wide Angle 2007, I was glad to be there on Saturday morning…

– Looking at the world beyond the frame

Photography can be a means of capturing special moments, fascinating places, interesting objects or even captivating faces. But beyond that, there’s also another dimension to a photograph. When delving deeper into the pixels, it triggers thoughts and expressions that go much beyond the frame.
We bring you – Wide Angle 2007 – a set of thoughtfully selected frames that attempt to capture moments of time that we hope will make you pause a while, think, or maybe even bring out a hidden memory. We would like to take you on a pictorial journey of discovery – spanning different moments we have captured along our lives and travels. We do hope that, after this experience, you will approach the beautiful world around with a different perspective and with a wider angle!! says the Invite..

Un-doubtfully Exclusive and excellent photo’s, the idea as explained to me by Venky was that they really did not stick to any theme, and few of the many best shots were kept on display. The nice and neat arrangement, great artwork around the entire idea, the pamphlets, the displays, the website seem to have a fantastic artistic angle and a professional touch which takes it beyond the best.

The exhibits are stunning, few made me stop by and revisit again and again. Varieties include but not limited to landscapes, portraits, abstracts, wide shots, micro’s …the diversified collection was spell-bounding and a crowd puller, till late morning I could see many visitors and interesting discussions around every frame. While talking to Anita it became more interesting to find out the thought process, idea and effort…

For every photographer the frames were meticulously chosen to match the colors and graphic of the shot, the prints are appropriately sized, nicely introduced. I enjoyed taking to Venky and few enthusiast. The idea, the cause and the event truly may have inspired many other photographers to come forward with such a wonderful initiative. I believe this event will help our four exhibitors to continue the great work and keep sharing it with all of us!!

For those who haven’t been there, the exhibition is open till tomorrow ( 9th Sept 07) at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishad, Kumarakrupa Road, Bangalore, I suggest do make a visit motivating exhibitors and help the great cause!!
