Intelligent Parking System for MG Road

PICT0024.JPG

Getting a parking slot on MG Road is like hitting a biggie on the lottery circuit. You need divine intervention, or an Intelligent Parking System (IPS).

So, if you’re working on MG Road or own a store, here’s what you can do. ONE : Pick up an old car – any car, as long as it has wheels. TWO : Hire an old driver with a licence and lots of patience. THREE : Equip the car with an FM radio, a cell phone and a bonus lunch dabba.

Your “IPS” is now ready to roll.

All your veteran has to do is get to MG Road, at around 7.30 or 8 in the morning and occupy the parking slot outside your store. At around eleven, when you arrive in your swank car, the veteran driver exits the slot carefully to make sure only you move in. He then drives off and parks in one of the sidelanes, waiting for lunch time. Or a call to move back into slot grabbing position.

Whatever the money, it’s a cushy job for the old man. He can listen to music or hit the snooze button, against the comforting warmth of the lunch dabba. If the idea works, you can extend the perk to other people in your office or store.

Now why are people making such a fuss about parking on MG Road ?

If this was an attempt at humor, the effort was wasted!

Funny post! Perhaps those feeling the pain of parking on MG Road may not find this funny. But I am laughing! Mwahahaaha!

On a more serious I LOVED the days of working for company W, which has an office AND parking space on MG Road. Didn’t matter even when I moved to one of their other locations. I could always show my ID card at MG Road and park, evening, weekends, whenever. Heck! Even during the new year celebrations when the police blocked entry to MG Road for all public vehicles, we could still get in claiming to be going to our office! We just needed to show our ID cards.
