Bangalore Midnight Marathon

19th May 2007, Bangalore will witness a unique kind of marathon in the history of world i.e. “Bangalore Midnight Marathon”.

    Thanks for that info, Charles… guess the organisers now stand corrected! Their site is badly concieved too and for an event being touted as the world’s first, it appeared very amateurish!

    Seems quite farcical. The course basically loops around some office buildings in Whitefield ! In general, given that long distance running is still a new sport in India, what sense does it make to have a midnight marathon. … oh I forgot – a few million Rupees in sponsorships. The running community should stand up and reject such blatant commercialism.

    I am curious though, to see how many *serious* runners will show up for this. If a substantial number (has to be in the thousands for a city the size of Bangalore), I will stand humbly corrected.

    Hey people they have confrimations from more than 20 international athletes.

    I think Bangalorean or atleast an indian should win this race.
