The “Pav-Bhaji” Quest!!

You may call it a quest but searching good Pav-bhaji in Bangalore is a never ending story, not that we have put some serious efforts getting off to entire lanes and by lanes of the city but few recommendations from friends are wortha try…

Last week we tried the Pav-bhaji at Anand Bhuvan @CMH Road. Great thing in like is to watch the bhaji being made and the pav being dipped in the butter, the aroma enhances the appetite like we love the Chinese food prepared on the roadside carts…not digressing but this one was good. (I am outgrowing the crave of Mumbai pav-bhaji as the ‘masala’ differs a lot here) the quantity was less yet appropriate for one.

This joint is another one besides what we tasted and posted about earlier at shanti-sagar few months back… Let me know if you stumble upon a nice Pav bhaji joint around!!

Well, Rajesh, You already figured out that I drool over pictures of food :))(and pics. of Gopika, but that’s another story entirely!)
I’ll take the ones in the second photo. The whole meal looks unspeakably delicious!

Harsha is the one among my closest friends and he keeps talking about having Pav Bhaji all the time.
Earlier I had some confusion in my mind that whether the people from down south loves Pav Bhaji or not but after I met him i came to know that they are dying hard fans of PAAAAAO BHAAJJI.

    Isn’t Harsha???

Pav Bhaji is, amazingly, NOT one of my favourites…but I enjoyed the write up and the pictures (and added advantage, no calories!)

Have you tried Papdiwalla’s, Gandhi Bazaar? We eat there and walk across to the Ganjam Mantapa. Just watching them fry fresh jilebis is a wonderful experience. The amount of butter just clogs up my arteries even BEFORE eating them, however ;-)

Sure, Mytri. I will try walk down Gandhi Bazzar this week end!!

Rajesh, I miss the Mumbai Pav Bhaji as well. Canon’s (hope I got the name right, ladies run the place) near VT station used to be a favorite. Here in Bangalore, all places I have eaten at (includes Ananda Bhavan), I thought the food court inside Garuda Mall does it the best.

SB, oh yes..Canon pav bhaji rocks…along with spring onions they serve!! yum yum…

will try the garuda mall too

I have had pav bhaji once at the shanti sagar. It was good. Must try this one when we are in the neighborhood.

Well, honestly no Pav Bhaji in Bangalore comes even remotely close to the amazing stuff you get in Bombay, but the closest you can get is Shiv Sagar (commercial st/forum mall/garuda mall).

The basic problem is the type of pav that you get in BLR. Shiv Sagar probably has the best of the lot.
