Roads of Yore!
The lone pedestrian!
Today being Ugadi and a holiday, the roads wore a deserted look for most of the day. We took the kids out for a drive and enjoyed the pollution and clog free roads. Reminded me too much of the roads of the 70s and 80s, and I was extremely nostalgic. In fact, by the time we came home, I was feeling down because of how lovely this rare an experience was!!!
At the Cubbon Road junction
MG Road, can you believe it?!
Raj Bhavan Road
Tracing back, and zipping!
Wishing you all a very happy Ugadi!
yuga yugAdi kaLedarU yugAdi maraLi barutide
hosa varushake hosa harushava hosatu hosatu tarutide
From the famous song of Ugadi by Da. Raa. Bendre
Meaning:
Ages after ages, Millennium after millennium,
The Yugadi keeps on coming! Bringing with it
new joy of the new year and of a new life.
Many thanks,
Hosa varshada Shubhaashegalu to all at MB Bangalore,

Shadow, yep wouldn’t it be wonderful? Empty, unpolluted roads and holige everyday? :)
chitra tell me that you can still smell raath ki raani, kasturi and mallige on the streets. or those days have long gone?
Tarlesubba, still we do have raath ki raani, kasturi and mallige here but the smell is faded with dust/pollution etc… i still remember the mallige & sampige smell in Lalbagh siddapura area many years ago when i use to visit my relatives.
Chitra: Good stuff. I just wish that our roads are like this on a daily basis. Sigh!!!
Looks like the cow is having a good time, hanging out!!
We still have the flowers thankfully and the sampige is blooming right now I think. When I pass the golf course, I get a whiff of it. The tuberoses that are sold typically for the temples smell wonderful too.
Ramkumar, thanks! Yes, wouldn’t that be nice?
