Two flowers that welcome summer to Bangalore

Here are the two flowers that still carpet the roads and pavements (or what’s left of them) in Bangalore, and herald the arrival of spring/summer…

Here’s the Jacaranda, with its incredible purple:

Now’s the time to start enjoying the tender coconuts, the cucumbers, the watermelon and musk melon….

    There is a pinkish flower too. It lines along the ITPL main road from Kundalahalli Gate to Kundalahalli Village, near Brookefields. Which one is that?

    Ahaa Tabebuia! Thanks very much for naming the flowers for me… I have been trying to find out what those beautiful yellow flowers that line the Cauvery Theatre road were! The melange of colours in the last 3-4 months in Bangalore has been amazing……
