A powerful inducement

The TOI on March 3rd carried a news report wherein

In Bangalore, Power minister H D Revanna on Friday promised that there will be no load-shedding in the state from 5 am to 6.30 am and from 6 pm to 11 pm every day in the coming months

Given that the said minister carries such an important portfolio and has to appease different vote-banks (yes, including students!) yours truly has underground information that the following comprehensive “no power-cut” schedule, worked out in collaboration with elder brother, is likely to be announced, including the reasons why.

5.00 am to 6.30 am – to aid students in their studies.

6.30 am to 9.30 am – to aid bleary eyed, pollution prone, road-enraged ‘office goers’ in getting up & out to work.

9.30 am to 11.30 am – to aid ‘homemaker’ housewives to take much needed rest after sending wards to school and husbands to work.

11.30 pm to 3.30 pm – The elderly & aged to watch serials, you see?!

3.30 pm to 5.30 pm – to aid all those in government ‘service’ to catch up with that precious afternoon siesta.

5.30 pm to 6.00 pm – LOAD SHEDDING 1

6.00 pm to 11.00 pm – for students / office-goers, housewives, the elderly & aged – basically all and sundry, to finish their studies, household chores, chappathi-palya, uppittu, kaarabath, mega serials & tear-jerkers, KBC3 etc etc.

11.00 pm to 5.00 am – LOAD SHEDDING 2

Did I hear a howl of protest about the load shedding timings above? Come on guys, you can’t have your cake and eat it too? I mean, who else will help manufacturers sell all their mosquito coils & sundry other repellents if there are no power cuts ALL-NIGHT? Who, huh, who?

;)

Let’s hope maintenance works are not carried out at the time of the exams.Because each time there’s a power shut down due to so-called maintenance work, there’s a power cut the very next day in the same place where the “maintenance” was carried out.
