Ramanjaneya Gudda

Ramanjaneya Gudda(Hill) … is one of the hotspots of Hanumanthanagar. There is a Hamuman temple atop this hillock, hence the name Hanumanthanagar to the locality. On the temple roof there is a 9 meter high statue of Rama and Hanuman(Anjaneya) hugging each other.

The place had a deserted look till 2001, but things are very different since then. Thanks to K. Chandrashekhar, ex mayor of Bangalore and present MLA of Basvangudi, who took up the job changing the landscape of the place.

Now, one can visit this place not only for having darshan of Lord Hanuman but also for other stuffs such as Light shows, Water Falls and Music. The place has become a ‘stress buster’ for hundreds of people. There is a ‘Ranga Mandira'(Cultural Audi) in final stages of construction. Once completed, local people can witness many cultural events.

Driving directions:
Enroute to Bull Temple make right from Ashrama Circle, proceed until dead-end, make left and finally make right after vijaya bank. For better idea have a look at Google Earth snapshot and wikimapia entry.

This place is just great. The trustees have planted all the 9 plants which resemble the navagrahas in their respective directions and is something unique.

A must to check it out

Welcome aboard! I have been here and the children’s park here bustles with activity. Appreciate if you can also include driving directions in your post. For a general awareness, you may add that this is very close to the Bull Temple.
