Failed context…

While strolling by Lalbagh, we came across the new dustbins installed inside, the plastic material used to resemble bark of a tree, with matching colour, looks like a good artistic work but when your try find a context look at what it symbolizes…

A full grown tree which is cut to the bark three feet from ground… now what does this context leads us to believe, cut more trees??? Is that what Lalbagh is saying and showing it’s visitors?

    Excellent piece of showman ship!

At this rate they woudnt need creative works like this, the actual cut up stumps would be usefull. In next 20 years our children will read in histroy that ONCE upon a time there was a garden story.

    Shame on you lalbagh.

I totally agree with you Rajesh. The same thought crossed my mind when I saw the newly installed bins.

On the lighter side, I guess the authorities at Lalbagh were threatened by the SPCA for using chimps and rabbits bins :)
