Restaurant Review > Coconut Groove @Church street!!
Day long shopping at MG road / Brigade Road…Scorching sun, after a while one gets tired and looks out for bit relaxation and Food to fillin…
When the criteria for the place is cool, relaxed atmosphere, great food…and with a polite service….The name which comes to my mind is Coconut Groove on Church Street…
Yes, the place is on Church Street ( Rear side of the Spencers on MG Road) with great southern food, especially from kerala!! The range includes everything from Keralean to Goan, Coorgi and Chettinad dishes.
As you climb the stairs you could see the difference in the atmosphere…the restaurant is full of green palms and bamboo’s making it a great place to unwind…
Cool it off with a great cooler, a glass of coconut water with honey… try this and guaranteed to bring your pulse down under the palm trees…
Food is great with loads of varieties, one must order with a calculation that one serving can accommodate two adults and a child ….Besides exotic veg dishes, The place offered various non veg dishes …fish, chicken, mutton and more.. don’t get panicked if you can’t read through the menu, go for a non veg thali…yumm! Believe me you may have to seek for a place for after noon nap after this wholesome lunch…
( non veg thali with fish fry…)
You may choose to keep it light with one dish shared between two and have hot appams coming in….one after another!!
(appams with mutton..)
Don’t forget they do server one or two nice southern desserts…to top it up!!

Another eye-watering(?) post. The restaurant looks sooo beautiful and warm and I can almost see one of the ‘thousands’ of panda babies born in China, ;-) munching on all that bamboo.
Oh, the food looks tempting too :-)
like that Mytri…eye-watering(?)
keeps me going!!
Have not been there but walked past it many times. The ambiance seems very pleasant. Good work Mr. Coconut Grove Owner!
p.s. I am not too sure of the evening times, but the later nights must be pleasant.
