The sixth edition of Aero India 2007, biggest in Asia took off on a spectacular note today with breathtaking maneuvers and daredevil aerobatics at the flying display nine sub-sonic trainer aircraft Surya Kirans of the Indian Air Force (IAF) stole the thunder at the hour-long flying display, leaving spectators spellbound…..
– The five-day event at the Yelahanka air base, located in the outskirts of the southern technology hub of Bangalore, has drawn 500 companies, including 275 foreign companies…
– Forty-five foreign delegations and 35 air force chiefs are also attending the biennial show
– First time that U.S. combat aircraft makers Lockheed Martin Corp. and Boeing will fly the F-16 and F/A-18 Super Hornet at the Bangalore air show

Pride is all I can feel. :) Isn’t it wonderful that we host Asia’s biggest air show here in Bangalore? Long ago, HAL would have their own air shows within their own premise. I am not even sure if these shows were a regular annual affair. It was just a few military aircrafts doing formations in the sky. I used to be enthralled watching the planes. This is the first time I am in Bangalore around an aero show. However, with 2 young ‘uns, crazy crowds are what I would love to avoid. :)
Just curious if this is interesting enough for a family outing with kids?
