Disappointment for karnataka, politics played in.

Why do you think its politics?
I for one don’t have full knowledge of the dispute and its history and the facts of the case.

But I presume the verdict has been fair. Just because Karnataka gets less doesn’t automatically mean verdict is rigged.

No one knows the full verdict yet. Don’t jump to any conclusions based on the media’s “breaking news”.

The verdict is actually in Karnataka’s favour. Wait and watch.

The verdict lies in the 5 huge volumes and in the technicality of all the numbers. Lets hope the common man is left in peace and that there is no violence.

In the interim award, Karnataka was supposed to ensure 205 TMC reached TN in a year, which was already causing lots of problems, now it is 419 TMC…
So people living in Karnataka , start to pee more (and make sure it reaches TN ) to make up for this deficit. It’s your national duty now. :)

An observation on Cauvery Tribunal’s Verdict.

Total volume of Water available in Cauvery basin area, including all 4 states TN, Karnataka, Pondicherry & Kerala is 740 TMC

    TN pleaded for 560 TMC

    Verdict:
    TN – 419 TMC
    Karnataka – 270 TMC
    Pondicherry – 7 TMC
    Kerala – 30 TMC

Please note that verdict does not say that Karnataka should release 419 TMC to TN. It only says that TN should get 419 TMC out of total of 740 TMC available in Cauvery. For TN to get 419 TMC, Karnataka needs to release only 192 TMC. TN gets rest of water from Cauvery water capturing area in TN itself. This is 13 TMC less than tribunals’ interim award of 205 TMC.

Out of 192 TMC that TN gets from Karnataka, it has to release 30 TMC to Kerala and 7 TMC to Pondicherry.

So, unlike the media projects, verdict is not against Karnataka. It is more or less in line with interim verdict only.

Infact karnataka get more share than TN. Understand the reality..
