Dastakari Haat Samiti, crafts bazar….
Dastakari Haat Samiti organized a great exhibition at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath; the exhibition is from 15th Jan till 24th Jan 07.
Various artists from different states presented their talent, the art lovers had an opportunity to interact with artist and understand it while buying there…
The experience became Interesting as we has a bouquet of Dastakari presented under a single banner / place…love to see those amazing colors, materials and styles…the pricing seemed bit upwards for textiles/garments for few stalls ….still we manage to pickup few …
patta work is done on palm leaves with sharp niddle and as a paint ‘kajjal’ is used…
Madhubani Paintings, Leather goods, Batic garments, the fantastic artifacts just lures you around…
these are the famous andhra leather puppets and the artwork around the theme and style..
Children loved looking at artists paininting in front of them boosting their confidence and interest in arts..
it took us quite a while to take off our eyes and return with bag full of load…
Be there!! carry enough cash as even if they do have card payment facility they charge 4-5% service charges additionally and there are no ATM;s in the premise…
Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath premise, Kumara Krupa Road…
P.S. The time we traveled there on Saturday was peaceful and was not really affected due to recent disturbing incidences …
Thank You Thank You Thank You
I just love these exhibitions. Now when I visit I rarely get to see them. So seeing these pictures not only make me happy to see all these wonderful arts but they also make me nostalgic. So thank you once again. I love those elephants drawn on the long banner. I visited Dilli Haat a couple of years ago and enjoyed browsing. Mysore had an exhibition a few months ago and my mom and I picked up quite a few things! Just lovely, the Indian handicrafts!
Welcome Mytri…keeps me going!!
I studied in Chitrakala Parishath and passed out in 1997. I miss all the exhibitions there coz i dont live in Bangalore now.
