Differently Abled fragrance…

The Horticulture Training Center of the Association of People with Disability (APD) has a famous nursery at Jeevan Bhima Nagar.


The APD is a non-governmental organization, aiming to empower persons with disabilities become active contributors to society. APD’s Horticultural Training Programme at Jeevan Bhima Nagar is one of its successful achievements, helping people with disabilities realize their abilities and subsequently demonstrate the empowerment with the rest of the world…


The APD project funded by the Wadhwani Foundation proposes to capitalize on the growing demand for services of trained personnel in horticulture. It will double the size of APD’s Horticulture Training Program.


The Association of People with Disability (APD) was started in 1959, by a group of people with disabilities, as a center for vocational rehabilitation for persons with locomotor disabilities. The focus has been to educate, train and mainstream disabled person, so as to instill confidence and enable them to recognize their potential for self-reliance. APD also aims to create societal awareness, to promote acceptance and integration of people with disabilities. Today, APD touches the lives of about 1500 people through its various programs.


Veterans who can offer to help can sponsor ‘day’s meal’ for the traininees working in the nursery to help the cause.


We have visited the place twice to get our garden cherished with the blessing’s from this nursery…

    I love nurseries! And this one is so unique, I am sure I will visit it sometime. Thanks for the write up.
