Season’s SMS’s..

No doubt that the electronic era has taken a major toll on the traditional greeting cards, post cards and even phone calls…checkout this news…

Come December 31 evening, 150 million mobile phones in India will send out over a billion New Year SMS greetings. That will be equivalent to almost every citizen in the country receiving an SMS that day.

Simply put we have learned to wait for the few SMS’s or Emails from others to hit our inbox, get them forwarded with the senders name changed to our own… and there it goes to the Distribution lists…no doubt the telecom service providers have almost doubled their revenues and stock prices within last year…

For almost a year now that I have completely stopped sending SMS’s to junta. Heard some complaints from few friendly corners but life moved on. For those whom I felt essential to talk to, I started calling them personally once a quarter and it really worked.

The amount of SMS’s I used to get before I left the forwarders club has drastically reduced, so did my response to the TV polls, everything from the NDTV polls to making someone ‘beghar’ from big bosses house. So to say have learnt to stay without SMS for a while until today while again got the ‘turkey’ of Season’s SMS’s…..
