Got some charge?

What is it? They call it a charging station, I prefer phone losing station instead. I have noticed quite a few folks forget their phones on these. “And it charged happily thereafter” types! So much so that I wonder if these gadgets are designed and operated by mobile phone thieves :)

I think we can spare these poor charging stations who’ve got nothing to do with their careless mobile clients :-)

Its a good idea to give people who are on the go, a way to “recharge” but it has to be in a secure place. In order to be secure, a fee would eventually be implemented and then ofcourse we would have to have a coffee place surrounding it and then we would likely sit and have a 30rs coffee while we “recharge” ourselves and our phones. Hmmm. Thinking heyy this is neat I got recharged for free.. I should spend more time here and then we just sit and talk about our lives to strangers. So much for life on the go. :-)

True, cant blame these charging stations if client devices have forgetful owners!

Irfan, instead of just a battery recharge, what if the coffee places offered talk-time recharge as well!? Free talk time, condition you got to sit here, sip coffee and babble :) Even more free talktime if you change your ring-tone or caller tone to Coffee Day jingle!

Being a techie, these charging stations also remind me of how bad these phone companies are at insisting on proprietary charging adapters and connectors. Can’t they all agree on a standard like laptop folks are trying to?

The idea is a life saver if you do not have a charger on you and your cellphone needs that essential shot of glucose to be alive. I have seen many Nokia phone owners come by these charging stations for 15 min periods and give their phones a charging shot. ;-)
