What exactly is this? Looks like a carpet, it isn’t. A painting? Close, but it isn’t exactly that as well.

It took 3 people all of 9 hours to finish ‘it’, they started at 7 pm and were done only by 4 am!

Thatte Idly: This is one variety of idly with bigger in size & looks like a plate (thatte=plate in kannada).
In and around Indiranagar finding a tasty “Thatte idly” is quite difficult, However there is a roadside eatery in Sai Baba temple street, Cambridge Layout where one can find a tasty “Thatte idly”.Here the idly tastes very good!!! They do serve Dosey,Rice bath,Poori etc… But the best rated is “Thatte idly”. Here the eatery starts at 7 AM in morning & closes at 9:30 PM in night.
If one need to enjoy the “Thatte Idly” I suggest to have as Breakfast, In case if someone needs to try here I suggest the “Thatte Idly+Uddina Vade+Thick Chutney” as first choice & also you can try Kali dosey too.
Address: After Sai Baba temple just take few steps towards down the lane & this is situated on left side.

What with all the happenings in Karnataka politics - the schools imbroglio, the tipu sultan episode et al - that much hyped and hoped for public hearing of the woes of the CMH road shopkeepers association in connection with the metro track alignment has been put on the back-burner.
What is simmering however is the ire of the entire community. You can one expression of it in this defacing:
I wanted to take a long walk from my office today (Monday morning blues?) and came out to see a shocker.
The trees on one side of the road in Electronics City (Ph. 2) were cut down.
What remains is only the bottom portion of the trunks :-(
I couldn’t understand the rationale behind such a move.
What are we doing to this city? Who is really worried about the environment?
Any ideas to stop such things in the future?
I have been meaning to write a piece about this place for close to 3 weeks now and finally found the time to do it now. The impetus was someone discussing things to do over the next weekend, it being a long weekend - Saturday, Sunday and Monday holidays. You either go to Mysore and enjoy the Dussera revelry with the crowds. Or you could escape into the lap of nature. If you were me, you would choose the latter option.
A long weekend affords the time and space to travel longer and enjoy more of what nature has to offer. Bangalore has lots of such options that are within the 300-400 kms radius. Prominent among those are the wildlife parks and sanctuaries lining the Karnataka-Tamil Nadu-Kerala border. One place that is not advertised a lot is “Kudremukh”. Literally meaning “Horse Face”, the name of the park takes from the horse face shaped peak (1892m) in the mountain ranges that cover the expanse of the park.

This Weekend Bangalore witnessed inauguration of another outlet of Biz Bazaar in Old Madras Road,
People around Indiranagar, KR Puram & Whitefield are with big relief on there face as it was high time for the people in this area to shop at Big Bazaar since the other outlets were quite far & weekends was hectic to visit one of the BibBazaar mall in other part of the city.
Just about 3 years ago, Bangalore didn’t have a single multiplex theater. Innovative Multiplex was the very first and it was more than welcomed by Bangaloreans. Though located on the outer ring road near Marathahalli, which at that time was sparsely populated, it had people coming in from the center of the city and actually waiting for 3 hours to watch a movie as there was nothing better to do around the place in case you didn’t get tickets for the intended show.

Some of us have been drumming up this problem of distance the upcoming Bangalore International Airport has. Adi did a very good job of same here two posts ago, and he drew a response from one Mr K Sriram that included this:
“NICE is … laying a beautiful peripheral road from the Tumkur road to Hosur road … And wants to link up till Devanahalli and also lay a monorail on its median. And believe me it will be ready well before the airport.”
The monorail too will be ready before the airport? First, tell me who exactly is building this monorail, NICE or BIAL? He also said:

Mr. K. Sriram, Chairman, Builders Association of India, Mysore Centre, replies to my post via email:
“Your point on Devanahalli airport is well taken, but it is not as far as you are making it out to be. As a regular visitor to the site I would say that it takes 1 hour to get there from downtown bangalore at most times and may be 1.5 hours in peak hours.
The 6 lane highway is at an advanced stage of completion and this should reduce travel time further when completed. NICE is a private company which is laying a beautiful peripheral road from the Tumkur road to Hosur road cutting across the Magadi road, Mysore road, Kanakapura road etc. And wants to link uptill Devanahalli and also lay a monorail on its median. And believe me it will be ready well before the airport.
NICE is also building an elevated link to the (Bangalore) city center from Mysore road so you can possibly get to Devanahalli in 45 mins max from any corner in Bangalore. The scenario from the current airport is no better as it is. It takes us 2 full hours to get to Mysore road at peak hours and we believe we can be in Devanahalli in 45 mins from Mysore road if the NICE road is completed.”
Thank you Sir for your clarification. That brings hope to us that the city is in safe hands.
