One more FM Radio on air!

Another FM Radio is on air in Bangalore, This time it’s a turn of Radio Indigo on 91.9 FM with a caption “the color of music“. This station looks quite different from other where they are now airing a large choice of international music from jazz to hip hop, contemporary to retro, blues to hard rock.

Earlier Radio Indigo was with Worldspace & now turned to be an independent FM station.

Also Radio Indio has announced that it will start Kannada programs from 01 November this year where they will play non-film music like Folk, Bhavageethe etc.

I dont want RI to start deviating from international music flavor. Please… atleast one radio station should be purely international. No chitrahaar/chayageet/geetmala on it!

So many radio stations, and all crap music. All of them will start with a bang and later starts airing low-quality Bollywood muck. Will Radio Indigo be different?

the new big fm launched in hyderabad is not at all appealing.i think radio mirchi is the best.

Radio Indigo rocks! They are totally different from others. They don’t air crap Bollywood and Kannada music, a bane of all other radios.Radio Indigo gives us the best International rock and pop music, which are miles ahead of Indian music.

  15. Kumar (unregistered) on October 5th, 2006 @ 8:44 pm

True! No Bollywood and Kannada muck. God save Radio Indigo

“miles ahead of Indian music”? What a blanket statement and how insensitive! It is a matter of taste. In fact, I think new age Indian Film Music is pretty good – good mix of technology, melody and harmony.

  17. Raj (unregistered) on October 7th, 2006 @ 3:49 pm

Yeah, miles ahead of Indian music! And Silk, we are miles apart, because if you say new age Indian film music is good, then you have not heard the best of Indian music. You must have multiple interests to compare these two. I listen to all kinds of music and I categorically say international pop and rock music is far ahead of Indian music. Or else ask Sankar Mahadevan.

  18. silkboard (unregistered) on October 7th, 2006 @ 4:03 pm

Well, I too listen to them all. To each his own Raj. Been there done that, and some day, you’ll grow up to learn that in order to call Apple as good, you don’t have to say all Oranges suck. Happy listening and cheers man.

Radio Indigo in bangalore plays only pop music which is liked by gays and girls. They don’t seem to have the guts to play Classic rock, OST, classical music…and many more great genres.
