McDonald’s on Brigade

After a long wait a new McDonald’s outlet has opened up on Brigade Road bang opposite the Cafe Coffee Day outlet there. This was in accordance with an article in Times of India which said that McDonalds is finally investing money to expand in the south of the country as well.

For a long time one had to go all the way to The Forum Mall to have a burger at the world famous Golden Arches. I had also heard of an outlet on Cunningham road but not being very sure of this, I have not yet been there. The two hangout places on the weekends are Forum for South Bangalore and Brigade Road for Central and North primarily due to the proximity to the two multiplexes (PVR in Forum and INOX in Garuda). Now we have McDonalds at both of these places.

The new outlet on Brigade Road is located at a beautiful location and if you manage to get a table on the top floor close to the window, you have a wonderful view of the crowds that throng the streets below. There is a slight confusion at the ordering place but that is acceptable since it is a newly opened outlet and things have yet to settle down. Another thing I found surprising is that this outlet does not accept the ever-popular SodexHo Passes though the outlet at Forum does. Is it because they have just started out that they don’t know about it or is it going to be something permanent? I don’t know but we will find out in the weeks to come.

It is a nice place to visit if you are in the area and I am not even going to bother mentioning the menu. So just check it out while you are there.

P.S.- I also saw some promotional campaign coming up at this outlet with a lot of posters going up. So keep a lookout.

    Hope the long Q’s at Forum will reduce now. Many times tried to get in @ the forum but by seeing the crowd I didn’t attempt.

    @Shadow:
    The Brigade Road outlet is not too well designed either. The stairs that lead to the upper floor are bang in front of the ordering area where the Q generally builds up. So you can expect a decent amount fo crowd here too :(

    @Mehak:
    Too bad for you. But it won’t be long till the Golden Arches head for Chennai. Maybe we can also hope for a Dosa Wrap or Idli Burger!

    I just cannot believe it.There are 3 Mcdonalds outlets in Bangalore and not a single one yet in Chennai.Its absurd really.Chennai is a huge huge Metropolitan Cosmopolitan city and there are tons of locations here where Mcdonalds would just clean up.Its just quite amazing that Mcdonalds India have made a grave mistake overlooking this massive market and have certainily missed a trick somewhere in their Southern equation as to date atleast.

    I can’t believe that a McDonalds outlet deserves ANY mention in a blog about bangalore city. Why do people in a city which boasts of places that serve good food from multiple cuisines care about crappy disgusting unhealthy, not to mention overpriced Mc Donalds food….Slavish mindsets anyone??

    Greetings to SID from a guy whose name is also Sid. I read your earlier post about finding apartments in B’lore. You said landlords usually ask for a 10 month deposit. OK, I’m in an apartment and paid the landlord 10 months. Is the deposit used for my monthly rent payment, or do I have to pay each month then be at the landlord’s mercy to get my 10 month deposit back? TIA
