Mysore dasara, eshtondu sundaraa…

This year’s dasara festival falls between 23rd September to 2nd October. There are two weekends between these dates, so that gives plenty of time to travel to and hang around in Mysore, see the well lit palace in the night, enjoy the cultural, sports programs and many other activities. But the star attraction of the festival – meravanige and jamboo savari – procession with the elephants is going to be on the Monday of 2nd October.

The organizing committee has come up with a good and useful website that lists the events and other information on the festival. Don’t forget to mark your calendar!

This is one fun event! The exhibition, the stalls outside the lit palace… such a festive atmosphere! :)
