Bone-breakers!

Have you seen those new speedbreakers on the roads of Bangalore? They seem to be the assemble-and-its-ready-to-use kinds. They have alternating yellow and black bands, with reflective paint on them, at intervals.

Is it only me, or do you also feel that these are not speedbreakers, but bonebreakers? Each time a vehicle crosses it, there is a jarring thump. In fact, at many places, when I see traffic at a standstill and wonder what it is all about, I realize that a hapless vehicle is stuck at this speedbreaker and is trying hard to get over it, and all the other vehicles are stuck behind it.

It is not that the speedbreaker is too high. It just seems like the curvature is not right. Maybe they do not conform to standards. Any thoughts on this?

    When I see a speedbreaker, I don’t have a camera. When I have a camera, I don’t see a speedbreaker! :( Will set things right soon.
